Here I am again on the production line
Seen a thousand years, now I’m running out of time
All I could’ve been keeps passing me by
All I’ve ever seen surrounds me
You’re my own design
It’s old news that my system won’t see another upgrade
The new world I’ve been making will hit the shelves in a couple of days
Hydraulic pistons in my heart are breaking down
Spare parts in the back room, that’s where I’m bound
You’re my own design
You’re my own design
You’re my own design
You’re my own design
You will never sleep, you will only dream
All you’ll ever be is a part of this machine
All I’ve ever been keeps turning around
All you’ll ever see surrounds me

No One Home
02:39
|
|||
You, you left me all alone
And that, seems so long ago
All I can do is sit and stare
Cos I, I'm running out of air
So when are you coming home?
You never used to be unkind
And I, I'm losing my mind
So when are you coming home?
I can turn it around.....
You, you got me all wrong
And I was waiting for too long
Now there's no one home
There's no one home....

Parallels

I got a ticket to meet myself on the other side
In a corner of the universe they say I coincide
With variations of myself from different points of view
Where every choice I made on Earth, the opposite is true.
When I look into my eyes will I know what to do
And what will I say to the man who turned his back on you
I think I'm beginning to understand it all
And when my mind stops spinning
I won't feel a thing at all.
Light begins to slow down as the ending is in sight
My right hand becomes my left and wrongs have been made right
Time is bending with the beating of a broken heart
And when I find myself again we'll go back to the start
I think I'm beginning to understand it all
And when my mind stops spinning
I won't feel a thing at all
I think I'm beginning to understand it all
And when the word stops spinning
I won't feel a thing
I understand, I understand, I understand it all......

Hunting Season
07:38
|

What's happened to me? There are feathers forming on my skin.
It's hunting season but I couldn't help taking a swim.
I take to the air, yeah I think it's time to call it a night
I see you down below, watching me through your sights
It's a sport, it's a game but now it seems that I will soon be dead
I can't bare the shame you better aim that bullet right at my head.
Used to head out at dawn with a dog and a gun
Breathe that smoke down into my lungs
Hide in the reeds till the moment comes
Blood on the ground means the game is done
What's happened to me? There are feathers falling off my skin
My head is a mess I don't think that I could manage a swim
So you head out at dawn with a dog and a gun
You breathe that smoke down into your lungs
And you hide in the reeds till the moment comes
My blood on the ground means the game is done

Doesn't it feel good to be in a room
Where everyone's a winner
We're in here, they're out there
This is all you could ever need.
Find someone smarter, work them to the wall
Get your Triple Diamond, climb above it all
The only way up, make the bottom deeper
You don't look at their faces
You're never gonna fall
The things you sell, all around the world
Things that no one really needs
But we're so blessed that you're giving all your time
You left all your friends behind
Sign up, sign up
Buy up, buy up
Sell up, sell up
Move up, move up
You gotta make it to the end of the day....

Yesterday I saw the walls come down
Like broken bones that we passed around
Took what I needed then I headed out alone
When I step I barely make a sound
Through the leaves so I can't be found
I made holes in everything I've ever known.
Changes coming so I've got to run
Build a shelter with room for one
Hide away til I'm ready to be found
When I get out I'll have a week or two
To feed off animals with open wounds
Get my minerals from water on the ground, so easy.
My head is hard and my jaw is strong
Got better vision so I can't go wrong
Dry my body in the sun and then I'll give myself to the sky

Didn't your mother teach you? You gotta give a little back
All the time you've been taking, it's been a one way track
Nobody could tell you, but it was written on the wall
All the time you been digging, set you up for the fall.
Put a scar on the mountain, you took the water from the lake
With your eye on your pocket, and your hand on the cake
Yes-men saying "yes ma'am' why don't you dig another grave
When money is the master, the mind is a slave
Now you're on your own, you got everyone you need
Down there in your hole with that hungry mouth to feed
Now you're on your own, you got everyone you need
Nowhere to call home and there's no one left to bleed
How will you manage the fallout? Do you have it in your plan?
The cracks are getting wider, there's a line in the sand
And I can hear you calling, but do you even know my name?
All the people that you left here, just a part of the game
Now you're on your own, you got everyone you need
Down there in your hole with that hungry mouth to feed
Now you're on your own, you got everyone you need
Nowhere to call home and there's no one left to bleed
You're on your own...

Shadow

Looking back to the beginning
All we could see was night and day
Then my mind grew dark and quiet
I'm just a shadow of the man you used to know
For so long you stood beside me
But then you couldn't bear the weight
And your mind grew dark and quiet
You're just a shadow of the girl I used to know
And all the wasted hours
With my back against the wall
Now that the silence has subsided
And there's no one left to blame
All our friends they are divided, you know
This is a shadow of the life we used to know
We used to know.....
